What is Direx?

Direx is an all-in-one business management platform for hospitality businesses. Thanks to being cloud-based and hosted, Direx requires no upgrades or maintenance of software from you. This gives you the freedom to access and operate your business from any location with an internet connection.

How much does it cost to use Direx?

Using Direx is completely free! You won’t have to pay any fees to get started, and there are no hidden fees. If you want extra features and customization, you can upgrade to our paid version which has a monthly subscription fee.

How does Direx make money?

The majority of our income is earned through booking fees, a small amount is taken out of every payment processed or completed through Direx. For further details, see our pricing page.

Do I need to be a developer to use Direx?

No. You don’t need to be a designer or developer to use Direx.

What business is suitable for Direx?

Our solution may not be suitable for everyone, but it is designed to offer tools to tour operators, travel agencies and lodge owners.

Can I register more than one business on Direx?

No. You have the option of only registering one business on Direx

Can I use Direx with an unregistered business?

Yes. You can

Which countries does direx support?

While we support all African countries, our primary focus is currently on Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania.

How much does it cost to integrate a payment gateway on Direx?

Payment gateway fees vary depending on the provider. Every payment gateway has its own rates and fee structures. There is no cost involved in connecting a payment gateway to Shopify.


Can I record offline bookings and payments on Direx?

Yes. We have a convenient manual process that allows you to log any bookings made with an offline payment into your back-office system.


If you don’t accept payments on my behalf, how do you collect your booking fees?

For each booking on Direx, we collect a percentage of the total as a fee. Rather than charging fees on a per-booking basis, we add up the fees for the month and send you an invoice for the total sum at the end of the month.

Do my customers need to open a Direx account to send me payments?

No. However, your customers might need to create an account with one of the third-party platforms we have integrated with in order to use some of the available payment methods.

Can I accept payments in instalments?

No. We are still in the process of integrating various payment services that offer the option to book now and pay later. We will keep everyone updated on our progress via our social media outlets when the integrations are live.

What currencies are available on Direx?

The only currencies available are US Dollars, Nigerian Naira, Tanzania Shillings, Rwandan Franc, Kenya Shilling, and Uganda Shillings. If you would like a currency that is not currently available, do kindly send us an email at

Does Direx take a fee on my bookings?

Yes. There is a small fee associated with each booking. The fee depends on the booking method (online or offline) and the currency. The fee is used to cover the booking management. Please refer to our pricing page for more information.

How long does it take for me to get my money?

The timeline for receiving your money will depend on the timing of the payment processor that you linked to your Direx account. Please check the pricing page of the payment processor you chose for more details.

Are there any fees paid by my customers?

No. They won’t be required to pay any fees. By default, you bear the booking fee.

Do I need a website to use Direx?

No. That shouldn’t deter you from accepting online reservations. To market your tour packages, we have created fully customisable one-page websites. There is no need for an IT support or coding team.

Do I need to install any software?

Direx is completely cloud-based. All you need is a web browser-enabled device and an internet connection.

Are there minimum system requirements for to use of Direx?

Direx works on any device that has a modern browser and is hosted in the cloud, not on your PC. We suggest Google Chrome, although Internet Explorer 9 and later, as well as the most recent versions of Firefox and Safari, are also acceptable.

Do you offer any training or support?

To set you up for success, we provide live training webinars, a wide variety of video resources, and continuing support as needed. Our team has your back.

Does Direx have a booking quota?

Not at all. We allow you to accept as many bookings as you would like.

Is there a limit to how many staff accounts I can have?

On the free version, there is a limit of only one staff account. If you would like to have more than one staff account, you must upgrade to a paid version of Direx. Please check our pricing page for more details.

Are customer details safe?

Yes. They are completely secure. Any interaction between you, your customers, and Direx is encrypted with 256-bit SSL. Payments made by your customers on Direx are processed by world-class payment gateways with PCI-DSS-compliant systems.
